Frizzy Haircare part 2 - Smooth It Out
For those of you who already read hits and misses, this blog is to continue where I left off. I talked about products that aid in curling your frizzy hair. Now. What about when you want it straight? Humidity. We all know. That struggle is real.
The list of products I've tried is substantial. It's sad actually. Out of the hundred, possibly thousands, of products that claim to smooth your hair and keep it frizz free there are only a handful that I've found that help.
I can tell you one thing I never use and this will come at a shock to many. Dry shampoo. Never will I ever. The dry out I've experienced is worse than anything. So I use cleansing conditioner on the days I don't deep treat.
I have a pretty solid regimen when it comes to my hair. Every 4 days I deep condition my hair. This has been such a help to keeping my hair less frizzy. I have 2 favorite conditioners. The first is Eva NYC Therapy Session. I found this amazing conditioner courtesy of Ipsy. I color and bleach my hair. Deep conditioning is essential and this beats all. Work a little through my hair and let it sit. Second, Aussie 3 minute miracle. This has been a favorite for so long. It was slighted by Eva but only because of how much I need per treatment. Aussie requires more.
Past that..... I don't use a diffuser to dry my hair when I straighten it. When drying I use a combination of CHI Total Protect and another great item from Eva NYC, Speed It Up spray. This combo is remarkable. Drying time is reduced, protected from heat and my hair feels so silky.
Since thermal protection is already there, I flat iron. Mine is usually set to 380. Lower heat means more passes with the iron, potentially more damage and a greater risk of static.
I finish my hair with one of a two things, usually dependant on how humid it is outside.
For the ultra humid.... VERB Ghost Oil
Another item I found courtesy of Ipsy. This is the ultimate in keeping my hair smooth. It's an oil so use it sparingly and work it through. It locks in my hair and I can't get over how it feels.

For dry to moderately humid.... Bed Head (Tigi) After Party
This cream feels really nice on my hair, once again leaving it soft and smooth. Since it's a cream it's mildly permeable but still resistant to humidity. Work it through your hair for the best results.

This will be my reminder to get more conditioner and VERB Ghost Oil. lol
As far as failed products go, there are more than I could ever list. I've tried pretty much every serum, cream, you name it. If it wasn't Pantene (long story) and less than $20 I've probably used it. But this is the best of the best for everything I've tried.
