February 2018 Rickys NYC Cult Crushes

First, I have to say I'm so excited about the box this month. I started my subscription with Cult Crushes in December after seeing a couple previous boxes. I was curious about them. $11 a month, free shipping and some pretty cool items in the past. December and January were ok. Nice items but nothing I really use (other than a lip butter from January's box). But..... I gave Ipsy 2 years to get it right. So I decided to give Cult Crushes a good shot. I'm glad I did.

Now, since this is a first impression, I haven't used anything in this box......yet!
The first item is a full-size (and kinda heavy) palette from Chi Chi Cosmetics. I've heard a little about this brand and have been on the fence about buying anything. So getting this in a sub box is great. Opening the palette I wasn't sure about the colors. They look warm toned and that doesn't always work for my pale skin. However, after swatching a few I see why people are getting heart-eyed over it. The colors are beautiful and blend well. The palette included with my box is Diva. There was a variation. Others got Pop Princess and I kinda want to try that one too. There are a few colors that require a little more building but the formula is smooth and almost velvety. The shimmer shades showed little sign of fallout. I have swatched the shades below.

Next is a 1.01 oz. setting spray by Gerard Cosmetics. This brand is entirely new to me. First reaction when I opened the box is it smells like candy. The I saw it's watermelon. I noticed that it's not a fine mist sprayer but it's not heavy either. Similar to the sprayer on the travel size setting sprays from Urban Decay. They call this spray Slay All Day. We will see.
Since Cult Crushes is by Rickys NYC, you will always get a Rickys brand item in your box. I'm definitely not complaining. My first intro to the brand was a makeup sponge. I still use it every day. The item month is 5 pairs of falsies. I don't wear falsies often but these might change my mind. The band is clear and ultra thin. These are lightweight but still feel nice.
The final item this month are a pair of heart shaped nipple covers. I have to admit, I laughed so hard when I saw these. I thought my friend was joking when she said they were in her box. I wasn't aware that I needed pasties but ok. I'm thinking about wearing them under my bralettes that aren't lined. Then I won't feel so self conscious on cold days. ;)

So..... There you have it! My first impression for this months Cult Crushes by Rickys NYC. If you like these kinds of topics, let me know.
I will see you all next time!
