March 2018 Rickys NYC Cult Crushes

When I saw the full spoiler this month I was pumped. Two shadow palettes in 2 months?! Yes please! (And my #1 favorite sponge....ever)

So, for those who don't already know, Cult Crushes is a subscription box from Rickys NYC (a store in New York). The subscription is only $11 a month and each box is usually full size. When I first subbed, there were more samples than full size but the scale has tipped the other way in recent months.

This month was curated by fellow blogger TooMuchMouth. Her picks?? Outstanding!!!

First, the Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette. This alone retails for $42. There are 9 shadows that are, if you couldn't guess by the name, matte finish. These colors are versatile and easy to work with. The darker shades take a little more effort to blend but they payoff. Making a natural eye look is so easy with these or amp it up with some shimmer. Matt Lin, Thomas and Evans are really light colors (the lightest of all the swatches).

Next, House of Lashes in Temptress. Those who have been reading my blogs know that I'm not into falsies much. I have them but rarely wear them. However, this brand has so many great reviews that I had to try one on. I couldn't feel the band, which is why I usually avoid falsies. So I might pull these out the next date night......that might be awhile.

Onto L.A. Girl Pro Prep primer. I'm always on the hunt for a good primer. As I get older, the more wrinkles I have and want them to disappear. The packaging says is helps smooth and fill in fine lines and pores. So far I've only swatched it on my hand. It smoothed out some of my imperfections so I'm ready to give it a test drive.

Next is my favorite item this month....a Ricky Care sponge. I was first introduced to this sponge by Ipsy. I loved it! It applies my foundation so smoothly! It's easy to clean and latex free. I realize most makeup sponges are now but, for someone who is allergic to latex, this was the first latex free sponge I used that actually worked.

Last is my least favorite item, a black liquid liner from Palladio. It's nothing against the brand. I just don't use liner much. My hand shakes so, instead of wrecking my eye makeup, I skip this step. Also, black eye liner is so common with subscription boxes that it's the most meh item in there.

Here's to loving 4/5 items for March. Totally can't wait to see April's box. For those who want to crush with me, there's currently a waiting list until May so get on it!

As always, I'm not paid to review these boxes. I have no offer code and get nothing from those who subscribe.

I will see you all next time!
