Spring 2018 FabFitFun
Like most of you, I've seen many unboxing pictures and videos. I've watched, with envy, as others get to enjoy their new items while I was waiting for a shipping notification. I had more add-ons this season than any previous season. I realize that, in part, will drag out when mine is shipped. My box was delivered last week and I couldn't resist. Fill material kinda went everywhere, like another Christmas. In interest of keeping this post on topic, I'll keep this about the box itself. I'll probably post about my add-ons later, after I get to really use them (got new skincare that I am so excited to use).
(It was enough to fill a laundry basket.)
Add-ons galore!!!
First.... For those who don't know. FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box available to the US and Canada. If you are a seasonal subscriber you are billed $49.99 per quarter. Subscribing annual is another option (what I do). You pay$179.99 yearly, in the season you initially subscribed.
The items..... There is always items related to fitness, beauty and fashion. Fashion is usually a textile and a jewelry or related item. Fitness has been a collection of items, all fit related (from water bottles to exercise balls). Beauty is skincare to makeup.
This season there was a Rachel Pally clutch (in one of three designs), a Anderson Lilley candle, ISH statement palette, Murad skin perfecting lotion, Dermelect ridge filler, a Free People sleep mask, and a massage roller. There were 2 choice items this season there were (cat A) tassel earrings or a LOVE bracelet and (cat B) Korres body butter or KNC lip masks. I chose the bracelet and paid extra to receive both items in cat B. There was Dove exfoliating body polish as the sponsored item.
I'll start with the massage roller. This requires very little pressure to get relief in your muscles. I tried it on Keith first and he swore I was trying to kill him. This is a man with chronic pain in his back. I lightened up the pressure and it worked great.
Free People sleep mask - This is my favorite item in this box. Thanks to a good friend, I have a new love of sleep masks. The one she gave me is furry and was amazing for winter. Now that it's getting warmer, I was looking for something that won't make my face sweat at night. Along came this mask (with a bonus). It has a gel insert that can be put in the fridge. This mask stays put and is so cooling for my eyes. I absolutely love it.
Murad skin perfecting lotion - This is step 3 of their skincare regimen. I have never used this brand before but the reviews are mostly positive. As I mentioned previously, I ordered a lot of skincare this season so I haven't used this yet. I started with what I purchased from Sonage since I got most of the regimen. I did, however, swatch on my hand. It's not greasy and is really lightweight. I will use this in the future.
Korres body butter - This is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands. I got their lip butter in a Cult Crushes box and now I have this. First, this smells amazing. Kinda like a sugar cookie. Shea butter and avocado oil are the moisturizing ingredients used and they work! I will definitely be purchasing more from this brand.
KNC lip masks - The packaging says these condition, moisturize, plump and hydrate. Plump? No. My lips are no fuller after use than before. The rest I agree. However, they're really hard to use and there are many other products that will provide the same results.
Dermelect ridge filler - I really like this polish (it is what it is). It filled my nails in beautifully and is really pretty on its own. As a bonus, there was a 20% off coupon in the box.
ISH statement palette - I was so skeptical about this product as soon as I saw it. I've never liked lip palettes. Then I played a little. I didn't like any of the colors on their own but found 2 that I can't get over. They're really beautiful and long lasting.
Anderson Lilley candle - I chose Manhattan beach as my scent, with absolutely no idea what that will smell like. Telling me "hints of....." means nothing to me. But this smells nice. It's a clean, beach scent. Sorry. If it's not food, I can't describe smells either. I like it though.
Maya Brenner LOVE bracelet - For me this was the lesser of two evils. In my time with FFF I've had bad luck with jewelry. I usually have allergic reactions to it. My skin is unusually sensitive to jewelry. So this item is ok. It's pretty but it's really delicate looking. Not something I will wear. On my wrist I need leather or something really sturdy.
Rachel Pally clutch in Bloom - I really hoped I would like this. So far I've been 50/50 with the textile items. This one is a solid no for me. It's not my style at all.
There you have it! I hope you enjoyed reading.
I will see you all next time!
