Subscription Boxes

Yes.... I blog a lot about my subscription boxes. I get a lot of my items from them so, naturally, I talk about the subscription too. My first subscription was Ipsy. Being a single mom with a low-paying job, $10 a month was doable and I was introduced to some good items. Some of those samples turned into full size items that continue to be staples in my routine. However. I filled out surveys and kept my preferences up to date. I still got overloaded with black eyeliners and makeup brushes. At the time I didn't have many good brushes so that was fine, but they were almost always some type of highlighter brush. I would've loved a good blush or powder brush. But that never happened. After nearly 2 years I broke up with Ipsy. I haven't looked back either.

I moved on to Boxycharm. At $21 a month it was a step up from Ipsy and only time would tell if I kept it or not. We've broken up and gotten back together a few times but it has stayed. I can say one thing. My palette collection has blown up in the past year. I haven't loved all of them. Some truly weren't me. But, overall, Boxy is worth it. Ten fold.
5 boxes ago (about a year and 2 months ago) I added FabFitFun to my subscription mania. This was on a total whim. I bought a year for myself with my taxes, absolutely no idea if I would love it or not. I just saw a few reviews and thought what the hell and bought it. I have no regrets. Even though I've gifted quite a few of the things I got, I stand behind my decision. I renewed in February and will continue to do so.

Cult Crushes by Rickys NYC was added in December. 5 boxes in and I have no regrets. I have received some outstanding items for $11 a month. My favorite is probably the Meet Matt(e) palette. So excited to see what's to come.

I subscribed (for 1 month) to Angel Shave Club. That razor was awful. I didn't get a good shave on my legs and the blade was dull before I got done. I could get a better shave from razors sold at Dollar Tree.

I subscribed to Play! by Sephora for 3 months. There wasn't anything magnificent about it. Honestly it felt like Ipsy all over again, but with worse bags. I actually miss those bags. Some of them are crazy cute.

I am presently subscribed to a beauty box from Sol Theory and I recently wrote a review on my first box. I'm still unsure if I will keep it. Maybe one more month? Two max?

I've done one style subscription and will probably never touch one again. I have nothing against clothing subscriptions or Nadine West. I want my clothing to fit a certain way and getting something mailed to me, only to send it back because it didn't fit, was mildly depressing. It got kind of expensive too because they started charging a fee if you didn't keep anything.

All in all I love subscription boxes. Why? You get sent things you wouldn't normally buy or even look at. More often than not, those are the things I fell in love with.
Is there a box you can't live without? I want to know about it. I'm always game to try something new.

As always, thank you for joining me here today. I will see you all next time.
