April 2018 Ricky's NYC Cult Crushes
The full reveal of this box left me feeling kinda meh. I realize that I subscribe to these boxes to get myself out of my comfort zone and to try things I wouldn't normally look twice at. However, February and March left me feeling psyched. April continues the theme of having more full size items and more palettes. For $11 a month that's awesome. It just adds value to what you're getting. The palette this month looks NOTHING like what I'd ever use. Hopefully the swatches change my mind.
I know that I am SO FAR BEHIND posting about this box. After having it for 3 weeks, I'm still not sure if I like anything in it. This month was definitely not my style. I swatched the shadows and some of them are really pretty but do I see myself reaching for this palette? No.
Is it wrong that this box is really testing my will to keep my subscription? There are so many options out there. The rates are being raised to $14 in June but the quality is staying the same. I'm pretty torn about that as well.
[Sorry..... A little note on my feels about Cult Crushes right now.]

There were 3 full size items and one foil sample this month. Oddly enough, there wasn't a Ricky Care item.
Pinky Rose Cosmetics - Bright Lights Palette ($24.99)
You all know how I feel about the colors. I really like about half of them and will possibly use about half of those. Let's take a minute and talk about quality. Swatching these colors was really easy. The colors are smooth, intense and evenly pigmented. My curiosity is there about the brand because of these qualities. However, fallout is typically pretty high when something is that pigmented. Even the glittery shades were easy to swatch. They're smooth and almost feel wet. I actually enjoy the quality this palette has to offer. I just wish the colors were more my speed.
Nailhur Renewable Snap On Nails in Ghost ($24.99)
These nails do not "snap on". I'm not sure where that comes from. These are press on nails that intend to be reusable. The style is ok but I try to avoid putting anything on my nails, except oils. I don't even paint my nails because of all the chemicals. I will probably give these to a younger girl I know. She'll love them.
Burt's Bees Micellar Cleansing Towelettes ($4.79)
I'm not a fan of their makeup remover cloths because I like mine to be textured. These towelettes have the same feeling. They're smooth and soft but I feel like they're only cleaning the surface. Maybe it's just me but I feel cleaner when I use a textured cloth instead of a smooth one.
Moonlit Skincare Midnight Shift Overnight Facial Oil 0.02 FL OZ ($34 for 1.0 FL OZ)
I'm kinda curious about this item. I read a lot about them on their page and I like what I read. Their products are made in Bali, are all for the purpose of "beauty sleep" and don't have all of the bad things for your skin. I'm all for beautifying as I sleep and if they said their products will help you sleep better too? I might turn into a lifelong customer. I'm getting ahead of myself but the reviews pushed me in that direction.

As a whole, I don't love this box. I'll probably keep the palette because I might warm up to the other shades. The nails and cleansing towelettes are going to someone who will use them. Still on the fence about keeping this subscription. Once I see more than a JCat Beauty spoiler I'll decide about May.
As always, thank you for joining me here today. I will see you all next time!
